Hello, Georgia

Welcome Georgia. Sounds like you really struck it rich. I'm very interested to learn what type faces you've acquired. It Also sounds like you've got a lot of work to do cleaning everything up, including those type cases. Maine sounds like a nice place to be 'cause it's been hotter than hell down here in Arkansas.
Julie Leonard of the University of Iowa and Dana Moore, program director at Penland, arrived here late yesterday evening (Thursday) and after a nice Mexican dinner, we settled in for lots of talk, but not before feeding our deer. Today, it's off to the print shop for some serious work. Dana wants to learn to drive my backhoe while she's here so we'll have to word that into our schedule.

  1. John, et all..sorry about the long absence...we have been up to our teeth in setting up our studio at the Corcoran, sorting thru the dozens of drawers of type, trying to clean everything up, etc. etc. I'll send a list of our type soon, one of our studio techs is inventorying it all! Shawn's an wiz Graphic Design student and so happy to be taking this on...he says it fulfills all his "anal-compulsive" needs! ha!
We had Steve Robinson up here last week delivering two 4T's and a board sheer that he ended up having to bring back as it was TOO BIG to get into our elevators and studio. Great guy, and he was a huge help too. We're still looking for a board sheer though...
Got the calendar in the mail yesterday, THANKS! beautiful! It will go up in the studio as soon as the year rolls around..
Will be sending photos of the shop as soon as everything is nice and pretty. Georgia
